Tesla Roadster

An electric supercar reflecting Tesla’s main philosophy of being committed to innovations.
Top speed: 131.7 mph | 0-60 mph: 3.7 seconds

The Tesla Roadster is constructed of carbon fiber, aluminum and it is made by hand, which ensures stability and strength to the whole construction distinguished for its lightweight. An excellent performance of the Roadster is undoubtedly that of a super car. Due to the improved hardware of the power control, this electric car can be driven in different climate conditions.
This electric supercar by Tesla comes in two editions: a regular Roadster and a Roadster Sport. With a 375 volt AC induction air-cooled electric motor both Roadsters develops the same power of 288 hp (215 kW). The torque values are: 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm). When accelerating, an advantage of the Roadster Sport is clearly visible (0.2 seconds) because of being able to achieve the maximum hp and torque values at lower rpms. The top speed of Tesla Roadster is 131,7 mph (212 km/h) and it is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
This car is equipped with lithium-ion battery having 6,831 separate cells. After having charged the battery for 3.5 hours, the super car can drive 245 miles with zero emissions. According to the manufacturer, the battery can be charged even in cold weather up to -20 degrees Celsius and it is expected to last for 7 years or 100,000 miles.
This electric supercar set up a world record of distance of 501 km with a single battery charge (record date: October 27, 2009).
What concerns its interior and exterior, the Roadster reflects the very design language of Tesla which can be successfully applied for future super sports cars.
The starting price for the Roadster is $101,500.
